In addition to Madewell opening doors in our beloved, NYC-based Calypso may be bringing their St.Barths beach into the fog. A Hitchcock birdie told me they were shopping SF retail spaces. With a couple stores in SoCal, SF could also use a cool dose of exotic-infused Calypso. I can see both Pac Heights MILFs and Mission babes in their Cruise 2010 Look Book; I'll take look #7. I would recommend OB as an awesome, offbeat location, but that's fantasy talk, the Marina is probably the smartest space for worldly details...

I kept wondering it in 2010 — but 2010 kinda blew — so 2011 (year of the rabbit!) is much more conducive to good news. I have confirmation that Madewell, J.Crew's funkier little sis, will be opening doors in SF. When and where TBD...I wonder if they'll need a (part-time) store manager. I recommend good 'ol downtown, but more off the beaten track like the American Apparel down there, or Southpark, over by Jeremy's, so I can get a grilled cheese sando and a haircut in the same trip.
